The Yonkers Triyakathon is an annual event sponsored by the Yonkers Paddling & Rowing Club (YPRC) and the Yonkers Bike Club (YBC). The event has three activities: a two mile walk or run around downtown Yonkers, a ten mile bike ride from downtown Yonkers to the Hastings border, and a two mile kayak race. Everything is at your own pace, so let's get together and enjoy the outdoors!
This tour is ideal for explorers looking to spend time on the river and also stop for a short hike up the Palisade mountains in Alpine State Park. On this tour, guests are encouraged to take their time and observe Yonkers from the water. We will have a brief historical discussion of Yonkers and the Hudson River. After that, we will proceed to crossing the river to Alpine State Park and meet with Mr. Nelson, the parks historian, for a tour of the Kearney House. An optional hike will be offered, where our guests will get a chance to hike to the first lookout area and observe the Southern Hudson Valley. Finally, we will make our way back to our boats before cruising back to our launch.
